Monday Blue

It's just some random talk with one of my friend just now.. about tomorrow being Monday blues.

And I mentioned to her that in actual fact, every working day will be BLUE. The only difference is there is a different shades of blues for everyday.

She agreed and say that Monday has the darkest blue of all. XD

It leads me to think that isn't that true? No matter whether you love your job or not, as long as you know you are going the spend your day at work and not being able to do things you wanted to do, it will be tough. Love your job and it might be a lighter blue. But still blue.

Holiday? Red? or Pink?

But then, those traditional tear-off calender.. weekdays are always green and weekends are red. That is why everytime I see red I feel happy and excited. But then, I never hated green. Haha.. Ok..a little out of topic.

It's just that I had not written anything for quite sometime and I think it is time I resume writing as this is the only place I can pour my heart into and not worry about whether I get my grammar or tenses right. I just want to rant.

Thank you.

New Page in Life

I am now heading towards the third month of my new job.

I had avoided blogging about it since the first day as I really do not know what I actually feel or think about it. I had avoided even thinking deeper about it.

Now, it had already been nearly 3 months. Time do flies. I think I had better record down some of my thoughts as I am pretty sure I will forgot all about it in.. few months time.

My new working environment isn't really new. It is quite familiar but at the same time, new. I know I'm not making any sense but it is true. I'm really familiar with some of the staff as well as the building but I'm currently on the other side of the .. 'scene'. So..

Coming back from the UK, I've decided not to go back into the industry. Or rather, I decided to try another type of job. I have to admit that I'm still not very sure I'm going to do this for the rest of my life. I still wonder if I should get back into the industry. Is that for me? I really don't know.

One think I'm very sure is, I'm pretty happy to go to work these days, which doesn't apply when I worked previously before I went to UK. It definitely is a change of environment, job scope, people I'm dealing with and the experience I'm gaining.

There's still so much to learn. I'm really trying hard to not make a fool of myself infront of people. It's hard as I'm actually doing something I did not ever imagine myself doing at all. Until I was offer for it. I tried hard to make myself presentable and also pretend to look confident over matters. I tried to learn more and be more bold at handling different situation. I'm really trying. It's been a few months. I really do hope I did not make a fool of myself.

Oops.

I seem to have avoided mentioning what I'm actually doing now. To speak write the truth, I actually do not really want to let people know of my job. It's not that I'm ashamed of it. I am proud of my work. Don't get me wrong. It's only that people seems to look at me in a weird way when I tell them. It's like:

you work as a L*******???!! But you are so young? Are you serious?

or

Really? But you are so quiet. The quiet type. Can't really imagine it..

or

L******* ar? Are you sure? You doesn't look like it wor....

That's why.

On the other hand, I'm actually quite enjoying what I'm currently doing now. I may not be doing it very well but at least I'm actually doing something that I have interest on, something I will really put effort in. That's a good start isn't it?

Sometime, I did think about the future. (If the world did not end) What will I be doing in the future? I did have a vague idea of what I want to do but as experience tells me, what I will be doing will not be what I imagined I will be doing. So..

Anyway, I had started again my piano classes. I really do hope to get my ATCL soon. I had put it off for too long. I'm afraid if I put it off again, I will never reach it. The next one is my violin. I still had my Gr8 to go for. Which I thoroughly do not have any confidence. I always wanted to play in ensembles but sadly, most of my friend aren't into them. It is either they are not playing music or they do not want or cannot play together. I just hate it. Why learn if you don't want to play?! In a way, I'm scolding myself as well! >_<"

So, that's so far my progress since I'm home.

On another note, I really do miss my UK student life. It had been tough at times, but most of the time, I do enjoy what I'm experiencing there. I'm thinking whether I will get another chance to go back or not. Maybe another place? Another subject to study? Music this time? France?

More Christmas

Out of request from my dear friends.. here are 6 colours of trees to choose from

^_^

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Day is coming soon. I guess everyone had their wishlist ready. Some may already handed them out. xD (Like me. xD)

And I do realised something.

When I a kid, I don't remember a lot about celebratin Christmas. It's not a big tradition at home as we are not Christian. I think my parents do bring us out to snap photos of the beautiful christmas decorations and etc. But I really don't remember getting Christmas presents. Haha..

When I grew older, during my highschool years, I started to enjoy the festive season. As I began to understand more things, I started to drag my family to go for some celebration or whatsoever. Maybe a dinner or just go shop around for Christmas stuff. Maybe using Christmas present as an excuse to get something I want as well. But that's not so much of fuss still.

Up till I'm at college, and mix around with more people who really do celebrate Christmas, I tend to get suck into the mood as well. As I'm at college, I get more freedom, I get to go shopping with friends (mind you, I can't go out without adults during my school days.. xD) alone, which means I was able to prepare surprises for my family. I started to buy some little gifts for each of my family members. I started to pester my mom into buying a little tree to decorate at home. That's when my home, officially do, celebrate Christmas. We started to think of what gifts to get each other, what stuff to write down on our wishlist and pass it to our parents. However, most of the Christmas, I spend them with my family, either at home (doing nothing) or out shopping.

This year though, should be different. I say SHOULD because it had not happened. This year will be the 1st time I celebrate Christmas eve with my friends. My dear dear friends whom we had stuck together eversince our foundation year. Which means.. 2006.. ohh.... the 6th year already..going into 7th in January. Time flies.

So, as I was saying, I realised something.

When we are kids, the gift we wants mostly are toys. I do pester my mom into buying all sort of masak-masak equipments, barbie doll, polly pocket, plushies, stickets, sweets..etc.

When I'm in my schooling days, nothing much changes. I still adore my toys though I don't pester my parents to get them much. (Much.. xD) Maybe some dolls. I also started to want some gadgets such as mp3.

During college years, I tend to only wish for gadgets. Such as a new camera, a new phone, a new iPod, a new laptop, etc. And guilty to say, most of the time I do get them. xDDD

Now, I've started venturing into the adult world, the working world, the REALITY.

I stop asking for gadgets from my parents. (I still want them though..) I do not feel appropriate asking for things after I stop studying. It's just not that right isn't it. However, I still don't have my own savings yet since I did not really work for long. Therefore, as asking for things isn't right, I use the other way. I often discuss at home what kind of model of camera, phone, laptop is better. Why is it better. How much is the price. And then saying aloud that I'm thinking of getting them. With the little savings I have. Obviously, daddy will object to me using my little saving to buy them. And most of the time, he will get it for me. I love you Daddy.

However, I AM REALLY SERIOUS ON SAYING THAT I WANT TO BUY IT WITH MY MONEY. Haha... xDD

It's just that I realised our 'wants' become more expansive as we grow. It need more and more to feed our greedy heart. The world do change. When I'm kid, I wanted just masak-masak toys. But today kids, wanted an iPad2 for Christmas.

Alright..enough of my rants.

Here's one of the little Christmas scene I did.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Ho Ho Ho!

十一月十九号。。。

Yep! Today is the 19th day of the 11th month of the lunar calender. (Chinese calender) And today is my birthday. Chinese birthday to be exact. ^_^ Happy Birthday to me.

Oh, and if I'm not wrong, today is also 送子观音 'day'. Meaningful right? xD

If I choose to celebrate my birthday according to the chinese calender, then my birthday will falls at the end of the year instead of the beginning of the year. Haha.. However... I will be a year old then.

Oh.. And I'm a little Rabbit. ^^

Btw, I will be starting a new job in 2 days time. Thursday, 15th of Dec 2011 will be another brand new start. Really hope everything will go smoothly. I'm really nervous on this new job. Never tried to do something like this before. However, I'm kind of excited, mixed with worries. People keeps telling me not to worry. That I think too much. Am I really?

Colours

I just love the colours of the pie chart.

Just log in to Nuffnang and check my analysis. Found this pie chart with the colourful segments.. Tell myself I just have to blog about this..

Don't it remind you of some rainbow or what? I'm curious.

Does colours affect your mood? Do you dress according to your mood? As if, when you are happy, you choose something bright and colourful and if you are moody, you choose something dark?

Or do you do the opposite?

Choosing bright colours to brighten your mood when you are moody?

Hmm.. I wonder...

A Day At The Airport

"A Day at the Airport

I am at the Heathrow Terminal 4 waiting for departure tonight at 10pm. It is currently 2o’clock in the afternoon. I had already been sitting here for the past 2 hours. Being alone in the airport waiting for departure is the first time experience for me. Never before had I take a flight on my own before. Not even when I’m leaving home for my studies last year, this time. I am both excited and worry as there is no one to talk to if I need some advice or help. Now, I feel so bored. I do not dare to use my ipod much since I still need that when I get into the plane. Just in case I couldn’t fall asleep. 12 hours of flight without anyone to talk to. Well, everything has the first time anyway.

Being here alone, forces me to be so independent. I had to decide for myself where to go and what to do. It make me feel so proud of myself that I am able to do that. Though, now I am quite worry what will happened when I’m going into the check-in counter with my overweight luggage. I had been estimating that it will cost me about £500 for the extra 10kg+ weight. Oh dear me, that’s really a lot. I don’t know where all the weight goes to. It is about 30kg.

Oh dear dear dear me. I had been digressing had I?
This article was supposed to be about what I had observed during my hours at the airport. Not about my luggage. Okay, crap aside.
First of all, I noticed many people seem to be with a  friend, or better, a group of friends or family. That makes me jealous. I want my family and friends. Okay, I will be meeting them in about..20 hours’ time. So, just be patient. Everyone looks like they are going home after a holiday since most of them here doesn’t seem to be local. I might be wrong, but well, that’s what I’d noticed.

On fairer note, there’s quite a lot of solo traveler as well. And most of them, very smartly, have either a newspaper, a book, a laptop or an iphone with them. Stupid me, do not have a newspaper, neither do I have a book due to the excess luggage I have, and since I had lost my iphone at Barcelona, I’m only left with this laptop I’m writing this article, without any wifi, and therefore I couldn’t connect with the outer world.  Hmm.. Sounds like, I’m not doing too bad as well yea?

Then, I also noted quite a lot of Asian. I’m quite bad at recognizing Chinese, Vietnamise, Thai, Malaysian or whatever it is, unless they speak. However, upon looking at them, I feel that the world had really advanced. Everyone now can be anywhere they want to be. What else can be hidden by anyone? No one can hide anything from anyone anymore. Crapping again am I?

Crap crap and crap, there goes 500words. By repeating the crap word, I have added another three to the amount. Who say it is so hard to write? Writing is the most easier thing to do, provided no one need to grade you for what you have written. Which is why, I suppose, blogging had been such a good fad nowadays. With blogging being so simple and fun, everyone, even people who don’t like to write, will write. Everyone shares and shares about their thoughts, their daily activities and experiences, their jobs, their skills and etc etc.

I think I really can continue to write and write and write. While the initial idea of writing this is to write about my observation of the surrounding, it lead me to crap about other stuff. I can never stick to something. See? I’m digressing again.

Talking about digressing, it is one of the word that I’ve learnt at NTU few months ago and I had keep using it for absolutely everything. This shows that I am a person who really love to digress. But, don’t you think digressing is a pretty nice way to generate ideas? Of course, after you digress, you will have to organize them. I tend to think digressing is something like mind-mapping. Well, you are talking about a certain topic, and then that topic you are talking about makes you think of some other thing. And one thing leads to another. Isn’t that how it should work in mind-mapping? You write the big topic at the middle, and write all kind of words that topic makes you think of. Whether it is good or not, it is what mind-mapping should be. Generating ideas. So, isn’t digressing a kind of ‘idea-generator-method’ as well?

I seem to be finding excuses for my own fault. But, I love to digress. It make me feel like I have been through a walk inside my mind and look at things that I have not yet found that I have inside. It’s really cool actually. Not if this article was to be seen by my teachers. They will be horrified at what I’ve written. Nothing is consistent and grammar errors are here and there. Horrible.  That is why blogging is such a fun for me. I get to write what I want and will not get graded for it. My blog is not that famous and therefore it doesn’t really matter what the content is about. Even if there’s a stranger reading this, I suppose he or she will have to bear with me. Cause I’ve decided that this will be the style of my blog.

Anyway, at the top of my blog, I’ve already stated, ‘Nothing is consistent and so if life’. Well, it is true isn’t it? Nothing is consistent. You can be running at this moment, aimed to run for 5 miles. Suddenly just 10minutes through your run, you met a friend. He began to greet and talk to you. You stop and chat a while. A short chat might lead to you following your friend to a coffee shop where he is heading towards. After another hearty chat and aromatic cappuccino and delicious croissant, you say goodbye to each other and head home. On the way home, you just realized, you have just run for 10minutes. Told ya, nothing is consistent. Never be so sure.

See???

I digress again. Well, I’m loving it.

I guess I have to stop writing as the battery is running low. I can’t have it drained out since I might need it later. So, I will stop now and the next article might hopefully be at KL with me well refreshed without any jet lag.

18th July 2011

Monday 18th July '11

It's the FINAL PRESENTATION finally.

I experienced the mixture of sad and happy emotions. You'll know why. XD

However, when I woke in the morning, I experienced a terrible stomachache and also feel like vomiting.. T_T (I suspect is food poisoning...) I almost want to call and tell my classmate that I'm not coming. I think to myself, if it's not the FINAL FINAL FINAL, I would not drag myself out of my room. I keep my finger cross that I would not faint on the road.

Feeling very weak, I walked to Uni. Reach there, load my presentation on the screen and sit and wait. Feeling still very bad. And I realised the little notes I made last night was forgotten on my desk. T^T

Anyway, the presentation runs smoothly. I gather all my courage and start my presentation. (After all, I know it wouldn't affect my marks.. XD)

Since it's the last presentation, I took photos of everyone presenting.

Isak

Issac

Me

Peng

Elitzza

Jin

Nani

After presenting, all of us is like.. wow.. it's done. It's finished. ^_^

And then, it is photo time. We never took a group photo together so it is the perfect time.

MA Product Futures 2010/2011

With our supervisors Alan and Les

Not to forget some of the great, friendly and helpful technician down in the workshop.

Kerry

Mark

There's still more people to catch for photo session but we'll leave it first. XD

Now, the only thing left is on next Monday 10am when we will meet the External examiner.

Next Wednesday meeting Alan and Les at Orange Tree for a little drink and bid our goodbyes. It's kinda.. emotional moment.. XD

I will make sure I grab lots of photos for memories on that day.

---------------------------------------

On another note, Tuesdays night we will be gathered at Peng's house for some pizza and drinks. (Not that I drink.. XD)

Next week, day not decided, it will be at Isak's house for the long awaited BBQ! I'm really looking forward to that. XD

------------------------------------------

And now, it is time to think of holidays. I'm looking at places to go in Barcelona.

And then, MEETING SIAWCHENG! OMygawDDDD! And we will both fly.. I mean, sit to Europe! Paris, Italy, Austria and Prague! Wait for me!!!!

Then, back to Nottingham in Sept, I'm thinking of joining a 4 days trip to Scotland by myself. If I still have some money left. XD I always wanted to go Scotland...... Scotland!!!!!

Next, back to Malaysia. Food.. Oh, and my piano... my beloved piano. I miss you sooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!! It has been... more than 6 months...!!! I need you darling!

Then, gathering with all my darling friends... You guys are not forgetting me are you??!!! Spare sometime to meet me!

Next, planning places to go in Singapore mid of Oct. ^_^

Then, cousin wedding in Nov.

Back to UK with dad and mom end of Nov.

Oh, and planning the trip to Taiwan soon. ^_^

Many things to do ya..

What about looking for a job and finding money?

I'm pretending I'm a millionaire for the time being. ^_^

15th July 2011

Friday 15th July 2011

It's nearing the end of the week again. Today the Expo is open to the public. Went there around 11am because Xian wanted to see why her prototype aren't working and later on lunch with their classmates.

Went to Post Office before though. Xian reach Bonington 1st.

Before I step into the building, Xian already called me to tell me my poster had fell. Again. This time, I try to use the glue gun to stick it. Again. Before I have the chance to stick the felled poster back up again, the other follow suit. =.=" Both want the same treatment. So, I gave them both a great dosage and put them to bed up to the panel again.

Hope they stay they from now onwards till the end of the Expo and after the External examiner evaluate them.

Meet Ran, a new friend I found during the Open day when I worked as Student Ambassador. She is going to start her MA this Sept and now she's taking the English course. So, she came to the Expo this morning with all her classmates. Bring her around and chat with her a while. She's from Taiwan.

After that, lunch at Orange Tree. Chat a while with Xian and Fiola's classmates and help them take some photos.

Back home. Skype and sort out all my photos. Found out I have almost 500+ photos from the two days. XD

Lot's of photos coming up soon.

Next, I have to prepare the presentation powerpoint, present and done.

No more daily report.. XD

Only photos!

^_^

ps. Suddenly I feel that preparing for the Expo is much more fun than having the Expo. After all, there's nothing much to do during the Expo. It's so free now that I feel... kinda weird. Hmm...

14th July 2011

THURSDAY 14TH JULY 2011

MA EXPO 2011 begans!

There's just too many photos to choose to upload and I'm so tired to do that now hence I will leave it till I'm well fed and rested.

For now, I'm going to talk about what happened today.

Today is the private view for industry invites and friends and family. Very exciting at first.

Began the day by choosing which clothes to wear since they mention - SMART as the dress code, which I take it as, 'dress up please'.

Ask opinions from various friends regarding whether to wear WHITE or BLACK dress....... I'm going crazy over these two dresses. Since I'm very free since this morning, I have all the time to choose. ^_^

Finally decided on the black dress since it was highly voted by few of them.

The night before, tried curling my hair with socks, YES, SOCKS. That naughty SC keep laughing at me. :P

Highly influence by that Xian and Fiola.. So I tried it as well. This morning when I take the socks off my hair, it became like a .. spring.. And I can't stop laughing! XDDDDDD

Anyway, from everyone comments, it seems my hair looks not bad.. 1st time tried this and it works. ^_^

Reach Bonington around 1pm+ and start to take lots of photos. Since there's not much people around, taking photos is fun. ^_^

Get our Expo catalogue from the office and browse through them. Not bad. XD

Did some final touch to the display and sit..no, stand back and wait. ^^

It is suppose to start at 4pm but there's not much of them. After an hour though, more people arrive. However, it seems my area are a bit.. lonely.. XDDD

Anyway, towards the end, I got some quite interesting feedbacks from the visitors. And that's all I want. ^_^

Oh, and some of my photos that I took during the Giving the Eye project was shown at a big tv screen as well. I'm a proud photographer. ^_^

It's so tiring to stand around since about 1pm till just now 8pm. And keep smilling at the strangers..make my cheek ache. XD

Fiola says it's like our wedding... where we keep taking photos and smilling at everyone.. XDDDDD

Nani is a little drunk because she keeps drinking the red wine.. LoL.. Xian is a little pening as well..XD

Maybe some photos for now.

Our group photo of the day

13th July 2011

Wednesday, 13th July '11

Very fast. It's the eve of MA Expo 2011 already. Without realising, it's already nearing the end. The big day of everything we've been doing for the year is getting here.. less than 24 hours by the time I'm writing this.

The opening of MA Expo 2011 is at tomorrow, 14th July 2011 4pm.

Today I did not go back Uni early as I print some photos at home. Last minute, thought of doing a little photo book for my H-Box. Took some studio photos yesterday so just print them out on some photo papers. After doing that, went to Bonington to dump my stuff at my corner and dash to the Print Shop to bind them.

This is the outcome

Also did some little jewellery at home as well. Laser cut them previously and now decided to put them together inside my boxes. ^_^

Some of the little things..

Can wear them after the Expo!

Arrange my stuff on my plinth and start to get confuse as I'm not sure how should I put them.. T_T

1st try

Name cards

Bored!

Oh, and then Xian found Peng's specs that's limited edition. She say it is very nice so all of us try it out.. XD

Weird?

Fiola

Xian

In the evening, Issac finally completed his cupboard-cum-table and it was brought to the studio finally. We all waited for it to arrive..xD

Finally ~

He have almost all the workshop technicians to transport his cupboard to the studio.. (While all of us have to bring them over ourselves.. including the damn heavy plinths... T_T)

With Carl

Carl, Phil, Elitzza, Alan, Me, Nani

Alan n Me

So, back home, I'm wondering what I'm wearing tomorrow evening. It's gonna be a hard decision to make. Why can't we all have some kind of t-shirt like our Sequence, then I wouldn't need to think so much.. XDDD

^_^

Tomorrow is the Big Day.

Can't believe we've actually come so far.

Think about the beginning.

It seems only yesterday when it happened.

Gonna have lots of photos.

See you!

12th July 2011

Tuesday 12th July '11

Today is another many-walk-to-walk-day. My leg damn tired. I think I  sprained my leg a little yesterday. It hurts today. Walked so slow the whole day.. XD

After settling my stuff with my bank (it's finally done), back to Bonington to continue to set up my display. The poster need to be re-double-side-tape as it fell.. T_T

After that, helped Nani to take some photos of her display as she wants to make some posters. (In the end however, I think she retake those photos with the help of those pro-photographer-from-the-uni-recommended-by-another-lecturer. =.="""

Lunch

Very pink today

Trying to set up my little boxes and found one of their 'leg' has patah. Back to workshop. T_T

My project title

After that, it is lunch time. Mood is quite good so decided to go out for lunch. Delicious. (A little guilty. By the time I'm writing this post, which is dinner time, I'm still thinking whether to cook dinner or not.. fat again... =.="")

Always dunno what is the name of this place.. XD

The bright-coloured-clothed-girls-of-the-day

Smothered Chicken

Classic Burger

The-very-salty-dunno-whazzisname-thingy

Bored?

After lunch, back to workshop to stick back my little legs of the boxes. Then, back to Bonington to get down to the photo studio to take some photos of our beloved models.

There's where we start to fool around.. xD

The studio

Colourful foam compartment

1 big-happy-family

Pink!

I'm outta here!

Me with my little sons and daughters - sextuplets

Fiola and me and the sextuplets H-Box

Me and Isak of Slow Design

Pull Xian to fool around..

Too bright?

After fooling around.. it's time to go up to MA Studio again to continue. Back to Maudslay workshop to transport Xian's plinth to the studio. It's like.. finally.
