You see..! but do you OBSERVE???

Everyone see

I see
You see
They see
We see

BUT... the question is...

Do we ever OBSERVE???

do i sound stupid?

actually, what i mean is that, human often see everything every seconds...

we see the car pass by when we walk on the road...
we see our friends waving to us...
we see how nice and tall their house is...

then, think back...

do we remember the colour of the car we saw passing by minutes ago?
do we remember the colour of the shirt the friend was wearing? are there pattern on it?
do we know how many doors or windows or are there any steps in the house?

well, the answer maybe NO...

ok, occassionally, there maybe some yes to these types to questions...

however, the point is, we often see everything around us, and take it for granted...

we never observe.
we would not crack our brain to take in everything we see... no details.. therefore, we could not recall back what we have seen.. as we did not observe.

this is so common...

last week, we rearrange my house... and there was this table where we put the statues of the three deities, Fuk Luk Sau... my mom almost everyday will wipe the dust of these three deities.. you will think that she knows these three statues by heart since we have them since 3 years back...

well, sorry to dissapoint you.. she doesn't...

FYI, these 3 deities have their own position.. as they each represented different things...
the first deity, Sau, represented longetivity, second deity, Fuk, represented wealth and enchance income while the third deity, Luk represent power. These three combination brings auspicious chi for the home.

so, in order to rearrange the furniture, this table have to be clear. The whole family then push and pull and kick to get everything into a new position. And then, lastly, we put every ornaments back on the tables. And the Fuk Luk Sau statues turn came. After putting them on the table, we stand back and see.

Mom: er... is this the right position?
Me: hah? u dunno ar?
Mom: er.. dunno wor.. haha.. yalor... everyday dust also dunno... cham mo..
Me: haih.. see la? that's the result of did not observe.. it's what Sherlocks Holmes' said

HAHA...

al last, i go find those Feng Shui book and see the pix and at last put them in their right position...

It's so important to observe.. we actually miss out really lots of things by just seeing and not taking it into our brain.. what a waste...
------------------------------------------------------
this remind me of something Azadeh's housemate told me..

she is a degree holder.. of arhitectural.. a going-to-be-architect..

she said, we really learn many things in architecture course (lik what i am taking now...)
you will definitely change half way through the course.. this is because architectural course train us designers to be observant... when you walk outside, and we saw some building.. we will notice their styles, colours, ornaments, the construction, the roof, the beams, columns.. and you will also think of why is it this this this and how is this this this...

she said, you might not notice that you have change, but this is the fact.. very naturally we will think out of the box when we see things.. as this is what the course require us to do.. and you will develop it by and by... it's natural.. it's fact..

wow... she made it sounds so Pro.. haha... actually, i do admit that i have became a little more observant than when i just graduate from secondary school.. it's only true.. you will tend to notice things that you know, that you have learn.. that you are interested in...

since i studied design, i notice them..
if you study account, you notice the numbers
if you are an enginneer, you notice the mechanicals
if you teaches, you observe those who teach
if you plays the piano, you listen to others playing it

it's all natural.. we observe, but we only observe one small micro part of the whole universe... only those known to us...

maybe it's time for a change..
maybe it's time we learn from each other and observe what others are observing...

however, now, everyone of us really treasure him more... especially me... he's so important to me... everytime i look at him, i will simle unknowingly...

Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra

Kumpulan Wayang Kulit Anak Seri Baju Merah

just feel like blogging about one MPO concert which i attended 2 weeks ago, on 2nd September, Sunday...!

FYI.. this is not just a normal orchestra concert but a combination of western style orchestra and the most symbolic Malaysian art.. the Wayang Kulit. Can you imagine?

well, this is my 1st visit to MPO concert and also the first time watching wayang kulit as well as 1st time wearing a semi formal dress and 1st time drive to KLCC (with my dad beside, of cuz). haha.. so many 1st time..

anyway, went to the concert with Chooi Fei, her brother, mother and another friend.. thought want to call Foong Wai, Hooi Ling, Grey.. but all.. aih.. Foong Wai and Grey busy.. u know la.. these super clever people sure will super busy geh.. haha.. and Hooi Ling.. what else? beside not really have interest.. want to save money.. ok lo... no paksa paksa here...

ok, back to the concert..

at first we couldn't really find our sections.. orchestra hall, is divided into many sections and there are doors which lead you to your sections.. and we, as 1st timers.. haha.. walk here walk there.. everyone looking at us adi.. anyway, at last Chooi Fei mom went to ask people.. then we succesfully found our seats..

then, seat and wait for the concert... very excited adi.. kinda know what to expect as i have been to the Istana Budaya for a Beethoven's concert last time..

there's a big big screen at the stage.. for the wayang kulit performance..

then the Kumpulan Wayang Kulit Anak Seri Baju Merah came out onto the stage and take their place behind the screen, and then lights off, and they started to play some of their music with their traditional instruments... after about 6-8minutes, lights on again and a speaker walk out.. music stop.. he started to talk about the Kumpulan Wayang Kulit Anak Seri Baju Merah.. and then, the MPO started to walk out to the stage... violin.. viola.. cello... double bass... trumpets.. trombone.. percussionist... flute... tuba... etc.. then.. conductor.. Matthias Bamert..

ok, the real show begun...

wayang kulit perfomance start.. is about Empunya yang beroleh Sita Dewi... the MPO starts their music and combine with the wayang kulit traditional music.. wow.. i must say.. great..

the orchestra music combine so well with the traditional instruments that you could not really find the differences.. wow.. speechless... i never thought that the western style of orchestra could be played in such way... really ear opening... the music is often soft.. and extremely high pitch.. i am so impress with the way the violinist play the violin.. so high pitch yet soooooo soft... wow.. incredible...

anyway, there is so much thing happening at once that make me kinda pening.. coz, the orchestra plays.. the wayang kulit plays.. the puppets plays... the tok dalang telling the stories...

i could not really pay attention to all... therefore, after looking at the wayng kulit's puppets shadows for a few minutes.. and trying to understand what the tok dalang is talking about.. i started to just look and listen to the music.. especially the violin... really interested...

to tell the truth.. i dun really understand those wayang kulit and what the tok dalang talks.. coz the language, yea, definitely malay.. but it's those traditional malay.. and in a sing song style.. so, really hard to listen.. the shadow of the puppets is interesting at the beginning as this is the 1st time.. but i soon lost interest.. i really prefer the orchestra more.. haha...

after about 40 minutes... wayang kulit performance end.. and we get a 20 minutes break so that the crew can clear up the stage so that the whole MPO will be able to get on stage (1st half oni part of the orchestra perform)

i really love the 2nd half... the whole MPO perform a few pieces.. really great.. it is so much joy listening to it.. wow.. u have to listen to it live to really get the emotions.. really big difference from listen to cd... the conductor even at the beginning of a piece give us some introductory of the song there will perform..

the conductor really emotional... he jump up and down when conducting.. wow.. super! the musicians hand flew up and down.. wow.. crazy... how i wish to be part of them!!!

you guys should go too.. the tickets not really expansive.. less than hundreds.. even cheaper for students... yea yea!!! even just think about it make me feel soooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!

(oops... long long post... thanks for having the patient to read it... and i broke my record for having the longest post ever... !!! haha)

classic anime

just watch some old anime tat day... and watching it makes me think of things...

well, u know, when we are in primary.. about 1994.. those times, tv, especially ntv7 often hav those cartoons.. lik dragon ball.. sailormoon... i never miss those actually.. and i really love it at tat time... i even collected the goodies.. haha... [flash back] saw some glitter cards.. went crazy and keep buying those.. have over few hundreds.. haha.. still have it now.. of coz.. now not crazy anymore..

anyone of u ever watch sailormoon?

i know.. everyone i know, say tat sailormoon is childish.. babyishh.. and those stuff.. and i hav to admmit.. it is in some way.. but, anime fans say tat it is a classic anime... u might be interested to read more about it in wikipedia...

i admit tat it kinda annoying during the senshi transformations and those stuff which are often repeated each chapters.. haha... those are really childish...

but, what i am interested is the storyline and messages in/behind the whole series...

from the first season, usagi, a cry baby which was not at all mature till the last 5th and last season, usagi who did not cry easily and often act ladylike... she cares about the people around her, and was willing to do anything or scarifice for the sake of her love one.. this is quite a good story line already... and then, for romance.. her love for mamoru... never ceased from the 1st season till end... although mamoru in my opinion actually did not really help her.. haha.. coz most of the time is the opposite.. it's true tat during emergency, he will appear and throw a red rose to help her.. but during the most critical time, like the 1st season, he was controlled by the enemy and instead turn his back on usagi and fight her, which makes her very sad but still willing to help him to recover his memories no matter what he did to her.. later in the last season, at the begginning, he was also been control by the enemy and ignore usagi, which makes her soooo worried and sad.. and then, after clear, he went abroad for studies and did not correspond with usagi.. until they found out that he had been capture by the enemy.. (wow..)see wat i mean? i looks lik mamoru had given usagi such a hard times.. haha...

the whole anime hav 5 season and it actually show the grow of usagi from a child into a elegant lady.. and also the progress of her power from zero to infinity.. this anime might not be the best but it must be one of the greatest.. coz, although not many people really love it, it was known world wide.. i am sure u know it, although u did not watch or love it.. haha

besides, this series, also teaches us to be together.. instead of alone, get wat i mean? all of them were not strong when they act alone, instead, they became the strongest when act together... therefore, we should never underestimate our frens.. as, even their support will help u through the hardest time..

and, usagi is a real and true fren.. she makes fren wif everyone, no matter who.. even those enemy, and change the enemy to become her fren.. great isn;t it? who doesn;t wan to be lik tat? she is often cheerful and happy.. never really worried about anything.. therefore, she makes frens easily.. she does not lik to be alone, but will rather be alone when she knows she will drag others into trouble.. (of coz, her frens wouldn;t leave her alone..) they are soooo unselfish.. and really care for their frens.. (it;s everyone dreams to hav frens lik this... )

anyway.. the storyline sure isn;t tat bad.. and FYI i did not watch much anime.. therefore, i could not compare.. and i am sure there are thoudsand of other anime which were more great that this.. haha... just feel lik blogging something about my childhood fantasie.. haha... nowadays, never hear anyone who talks about it adi.. haha.. when i speak of it, they say baby.. oh dear.. haha.. anyway... it's just one of the thoudsand anime.. haha...
