You see..! but do you OBSERVE???

Everyone see

I see
You see
They see
We see

BUT... the question is...

Do we ever OBSERVE???

do i sound stupid?

actually, what i mean is that, human often see everything every seconds...

we see the car pass by when we walk on the road...
we see our friends waving to us...
we see how nice and tall their house is...

then, think back...

do we remember the colour of the car we saw passing by minutes ago?
do we remember the colour of the shirt the friend was wearing? are there pattern on it?
do we know how many doors or windows or are there any steps in the house?

well, the answer maybe NO...

ok, occassionally, there maybe some yes to these types to questions...

however, the point is, we often see everything around us, and take it for granted...

we never observe.
we would not crack our brain to take in everything we see... no details.. therefore, we could not recall back what we have seen.. as we did not observe.

this is so common...

last week, we rearrange my house... and there was this table where we put the statues of the three deities, Fuk Luk Sau... my mom almost everyday will wipe the dust of these three deities.. you will think that she knows these three statues by heart since we have them since 3 years back...

well, sorry to dissapoint you.. she doesn't...

FYI, these 3 deities have their own position.. as they each represented different things...
the first deity, Sau, represented longetivity, second deity, Fuk, represented wealth and enchance income while the third deity, Luk represent power. These three combination brings auspicious chi for the home.

so, in order to rearrange the furniture, this table have to be clear. The whole family then push and pull and kick to get everything into a new position. And then, lastly, we put every ornaments back on the tables. And the Fuk Luk Sau statues turn came. After putting them on the table, we stand back and see.

Mom: er... is this the right position?
Me: hah? u dunno ar?
Mom: er.. dunno wor.. haha.. yalor... everyday dust also dunno... cham mo..
Me: haih.. see la? that's the result of did not observe.. it's what Sherlocks Holmes' said

HAHA...

al last, i go find those Feng Shui book and see the pix and at last put them in their right position...

It's so important to observe.. we actually miss out really lots of things by just seeing and not taking it into our brain.. what a waste...
------------------------------------------------------
this remind me of something Azadeh's housemate told me..

she is a degree holder.. of arhitectural.. a going-to-be-architect..

she said, we really learn many things in architecture course (lik what i am taking now...)
you will definitely change half way through the course.. this is because architectural course train us designers to be observant... when you walk outside, and we saw some building.. we will notice their styles, colours, ornaments, the construction, the roof, the beams, columns.. and you will also think of why is it this this this and how is this this this...

she said, you might not notice that you have change, but this is the fact.. very naturally we will think out of the box when we see things.. as this is what the course require us to do.. and you will develop it by and by... it's natural.. it's fact..

wow... she made it sounds so Pro.. haha... actually, i do admit that i have became a little more observant than when i just graduate from secondary school.. it's only true.. you will tend to notice things that you know, that you have learn.. that you are interested in...

since i studied design, i notice them..
if you study account, you notice the numbers
if you are an enginneer, you notice the mechanicals
if you teaches, you observe those who teach
if you plays the piano, you listen to others playing it

it's all natural.. we observe, but we only observe one small micro part of the whole universe... only those known to us...

maybe it's time for a change..
maybe it's time we learn from each other and observe what others are observing...
